A NIGHT AT THE GARDEN
DISTRIBUTION & ACADEMY AWARD CAMPAIGN (2019)
A Night at the Garden is an Academy Award nominated short documentary directed by three-time Oscar-nominated director Marshall Curry and produced by Field of Vision. Made entirely from archival footage, it sheds light on the night 20,000 Americans rallied in New York’s Madison Square Garden to celebrate the rise of Nazism in 1939 – an event largely forgotten from American history. The film was also an official selection at the Sundance Film Festival, was part of a special screening at the New York Film Festival, and was released on 22 Alamo Theater screens across the country and at The IFC Center in New York City.
Working with Marshall Curry and the Oscar-winning director Laura Poitras, I helped coordinate the Oscar awards campaign, including the creation of trailers and promotional art as well as screenings, interviews, and travel. On the 80th anniversary of the rally, we also projected footage from the film onto Madison Square Garden as a reminder of the United States’ history of anti-Semitism and hate.
